This month Kick Out The Jam celebrates its first birthday and to celebrate we've got two - yes, two - mixtapes for you lovely shits. The first is from our good friend BD1982 and the second is from Nightshifters co-big cheese, Jubilee.Episode six of our podcast series comes from Yokohama resident BD1982. Including Makumba Sound, Roska, XLII and Untold; it also features a couple of BD1982 originals, as well as his remix of 'Mommy' by Planet Soap.
The tape kicks off with an awesome blend of samples before throwing us headlong into a dubby dancehall number. It ties in all my favourite styles of tropical, funky, dancehall, dubstep and house into this really awesome dark trip that almost delves into the realms of IDM at points.
