New Girl Unit EP on Night Slugs!

The infallible Night Slugs crew have put out a new release by Girl Unit today. Following hot on the heels of this year's 'IRL' EP, Girl Unit's new single 'Wut' sits at the dubbier end of the UKF spectrum.

Girl Unit's new EP wasn't wasn't even going to be released this early, but the gossip and bootlegs surrounding this dubby slice of UKF became too much for everyone and they were forced to put the single out soon as. New Kanji Kinetic EP 'Thrill Seeka'

Kanji Kinetic has released an EP on Chrissy Murderbot's label Sleazetone. The release promises to be the biggest for the label so far, with remixes coming from Krazy Fiesta (of Trunkfunk/Turboweekend fame) and upcoming bass or, to coin a wanky term, "post-garage" superstar Kingdom (Night Slugs, Fool’s Gold, Mad Decent, Acéphale).

Here's what Sleazetone had to say about it:
"We here at Sleazetone are really hyped about this one—an EP from one of the biggest names in forward-thinking bass music right now, Kanji Kinetic. He's released work on labels like Rag & Bone, Trouble & Bass, Senseless, Tigerbeat6, and Coin Op, to name a few. Now he’s bringing a new take on his distinctive Bassline/Dubstep/Funky/Rave fusion to Sleazetone.

'Thrill Seeka' is a huge party tune on a UK Funky tip with some cheeky samples to keep things lively. 'Griefer' is classic Kanji—punishing bassline house with really crisp percussion and genius drum edits, while 'Scatter' is mind-melting Dubstep drumwork mayhem. Completely next level ish, FOR SERIOUS."

Roska @ Deviate - 19/03/10

Massively excited for this one!

ROSKA
(Roska Kicks & Snares)
Roska, a former MC turned producer is THE star name in the fast rising funky scene. Clubbers sick of dubstep’s bass wars and grime’s continual macho posing have begun flocking to hear Roska’s production. Bass heavy but with a cheeky sense of humour, his stripped-down style is one of the hottest new trends in electronic music.

BRACKLES
(Blunted Robots, Berkane Sol, Applepips, Planet Mu)
"Inspired by all the good stuff – Slimzee, Horsepower, Dilla, El-B, MJ Cole – Brackles is probably our favourite DJ around right now, and basically blew our minds last time he played FWD>>. With a sound a million miles away from the blokey, sludgy going rate of dubstep, this kid effortlessly incorporates funky, rolling grime, vintage 2-step and bassline into his impossibly energetic, elastic sets" FACT MAGAZINE

MOSCA
(Night Slugs, Fabric, Sound Of Sumo)
Sub FM regular and Night Slugs label artist Mosca is best known for 'Square One', a UK house anthem that takes in tribal percussion, Karizma-like horns, the longing bass of Joy Orbison, cut-up R'n'B and patois samples - so basically everything good in music ever. Getting played out by Kode9, Roska, Untold and many more, firmly placed his name on the map and raised awareness for this up-and-coming producer from London. But that's only half the story: check new productions like 'Gold Bricks' or 'I See You' and you'll realize that you're not dealing with a flash in the pan, but one of UK's brightest young talents.
